Summary
From the very beginning, God created mankind to walk with Him.
Sin broke that fellowship, but sin did not change God’s purpose.
From Genesis to Revelation, God continually reaches down to mankind, revealing Himself, making promises, establishing covenants, providing a way of redemption, and progressively revealing His plan.
The eight covenants
Adamic – Walk with God & Care for the earth
Noaidic – serve God, golden rule
Abrahamic – believe God
Mosaic (Old Covenant) – obey God
Davidic – look for the Messiah
Christolic (New Covenant) – Faith in God – Messiah
Millennial (Jeremiah 31:31)-Walk with God – Jesus reigns
The eternal covenant – Live with God, Christians in God’s house, the tribes of Israel possessing the land, and nations on the new earth!
When we open our Bibles, we often see 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over thousands of years, covering everything from creation and the fall of man to the cross, the resurrection, the Church, the return of Christ, and finally the new heavens and the new earth.
But what if we stepped back and looked at the Bible as one story?
What is God doing throughout all of human history?
What is He trying to accomplish?
And perhaps most importantly—what does God ultimately want from mankind?
The answer is remarkably simple:
God wants us to know Him, walk with Him, and ultimately dwell with Him forever.
