Summary
Have you ever had a season in your life when you wondered…
“God, where are You?”
Maybe you’ve been there.
You’ve prayed.
You’ve trusted.
You’ve waited.
And nothing seems to change.
In fact, sometimes it seems to get worse.
And if we’re honest, there are times when our circumstances can make us feel like God has forgotten us.
But today, we’re going to look at a man who could have asked that very question.
Joseph.
Was God in Jerusalem?
No.
Was Joseph in the Temple?
No.
Joseph was in Egypt.
And yet Acts 7 gives us one of the most powerful statements in the entire story:
“Yet God was with him.”
That’s what Stephen wants the Sanhedrin to understand.
God has never been confined to a building.
God was with Abraham in Mesopotamia.
God was with Joseph in Egypt.
God was with Moses in the wilderness.
God’s presence has never been limited by geography, by circumstances, or by a building made with human hands.
